“Bear Pause”, perhaps just to admire the rustic cabin nestled in among the pines, or is it the breath taking view of Brasstown Bald they’re stopping to see? You decide, but it won’t be easy, there’s so much to love about this cozy cabin hideaway. Just 2 years old, it’s bearly broken-in but you’ll feel right at home as soon as you arrive. There’s ample parking for 4 cars or more and the driveway has been paved to make access easy all year round. There are 3 covered porches with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains. Or watching the kids play horseshoes out in the backyard where we’ve built a great stone fire pit with log benches all around (can’t you just hear the crackling fire and smell the marshmallows toasting?). “Smores anyone?”

The cabin sleeps up to 10 and the floor plan provides plenty of personal space with a bedroom and bath on each level for a total of 3 spacious bedrooms (each with its own TV) and 3 and ½ baths. The Master Suite on the main level is furnished with a King Sized 4 poster bed with luxurious 18” deep, pillow-top mattress all dressed up in comfy, downy “woodland” quilt & shams with dreamy soft sheets. (Who says rustic has to be rough?)

The living room has Cathedral ceilings with lots of windows and a stacked stone, gas-log fireplace, hardwood floors with a rich jewel-toned area rug, lodge styled furnishings and a 42” flat screen satellite TV mounted above the mantel. We’ve even provided a few DVD’s to watch on the new Blue Ray player for the whole family to enjoy on rainy days or chilly evenings in front of the fire. The kitchen opens out to the dining area, which comfortably seats 6 while the kitchen bar provides seating for an additional 4. You’ll find everything you need to prepare meals at home whether you’re cooking a pot of porridge for the little cubs or barbecuing on the gas grill (propane provided) just outside on the upper deck. The laundry room with full sized washer & dryer is located on this level as well.

The loft level has another large bedroom with 2 oversized hand-hewn log beds, one a Queen and the other a Full/Double size. The full bath on this level also serves any extra guests, sleeping on the Queen size sofa bed in the open area of the loft which is furnished with a full sized pool table and additional tables and seating. The cabin is equipped with WiFi Internet service and there’s a cozy little nook with a desk, printer and fax machine; everything you need to stay in touch with the office – just bring your laptop.

The lower level has a 3^rd large bedroom furnished with another Queen sized hand-hewn log bed and a super sturdy bunk bed carved out of tree trunks. There’s a 3^rd full bath just across the hall from this bedroom and down the hall from the Kids Playroom which highlights a 32” flat screen TV equipped with “Play Station II” and some games, but you may want to bring your own favorites. Here too, you’ll find a Foosball table (always a favorite with kids of all ages) and a game table with checkerboard imprint, perfect for putting together puzzles or playing any of the variety of board games supplied.

Flying in and can’t bring the baby equipment? Just ask, we’ll supply the “Pack ‘n Play” or a highchair if needed. “Family-Friendly” is our by-line, so come one and all! Grandparents get a special Senior Citizen Discount so bring the kids, grandkids and even the family pet! Well, maybe not ALL family pets, some restrictions do apply: No guinea pigs, reptiles or cats. Crate trained Dogs only; arrangements must be made in advance of booking.

You’re sure to love “Bear Pause” with all it has to offer . . . the only thing you’ll hate is having to leave. But you can hibernate all season and come back again whenever you like, we’ll hang out the welcome mat and cue the woodland creatures for your arrival but don’t you “pause” before booking, especially for the holidays, you’ll want to book well in advance.
